A simple manual WordPress backup plugin for files and database — local, downloadable and cloud-free.

RESLVD Easy Backup creates an on-demand backup of your WordPress files and database directly from wp-admin. With a few clicks, it builds a downloadable ZIP archive containing your site files and a gzip-compressed SQL database backup.

Backups stay on your own server until you download or replace them. RESLVD Easy Backup does not require a cloud account, external backup service, cron job, shell access or command-line tools, and it does not transmit backup data or telemetry to third parties.

Manual WordPress backup in a few clicks

  • Create a manual backup of WordPress files and database from wp-admin.
  • Store website files in a downloadable ZIP archive.

  • Configure the database table scope.

Local backup without a cloud account

RESLVD Easy Backup is designed for site owners and developers who want a straightforward local WordPress backup without connecting Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3 or another third-party storage account. The completed backup can be downloaded to your computer or moved to your own off-site storage.

This makes it useful for creating a manual backup before WordPress core, plugin, theme or site changes, or whenever you want a downloadable copy of your files and database.

Safe replacement of the previous backup

Only the latest successfully completed backup is retained. The previous completed backup is removed only after a replacement has been created successfully, so a failed new backup does not intentionally delete the last completed one.

Server-friendly processing

The backup process is split across small admin requests instead of relying on a long-running shell command. RESLVD Easy Backup automatically detects the WordPress path, database and table prefix. Website files are stored in the ZIP archive without additional compression, while the SQL dump is gzip-compressed.

Current limitations

RESLVD Easy Backup currently focuses on manual backups. It does not include scheduled or automatic backups, one-click restore, cloud storage integration or WordPress multisite support. Symbolic links and database views inside the selected scope cause a clear error instead of silently creating an incomplete backup.

Privacy

RESLVD Easy Backup processes website files and database contents locally on your server. It does not send backups, usage data or telemetry to third-party services. If email notifications are enabled, WordPress sends an email containing your site address and backup status to the address you configure using your site’s own mail transport. Backups can contain personal data and credentials; protect and store them accordingly.
