Katapic: AI Visibility Toolkit for WooCommerce (llms.txt, Schema, AEO)

AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google’s AI results read your product data before they read your marketing copy. If that data is thin or unstructured, they cannot describe your products properly, and cannot recommend them with any confidence.

This plugin makes your WooCommerce catalog readable to them. For free, on your own site, with no account and no external calls.

What you get for free, immediately

Activate the plugin and four things start working. Each one can be switched off on its own.

• /llms.txt: publishes a plain-text summary of your catalog (categories and products) at the root of your site, the file AI crawlers look for.
• /agents.md: tells an AI agent how to actually read your store, pointing at the public read-only WooCommerce endpoints for products and categories. Shopify began publishing this on every store by default in spring 2026 and treats it as the canonical one of the two. WooCommerce publishes neither.
• Product schema enrichment: fills in missing brand, GTIN and material inside the structured data WooCommerce already outputs, through the official WooCommerce filter. It never duplicates a block and never overwrites a value you already have.
• FAQ structured data: adds FAQPage markup only when a product description genuinely contains questions and answers. No invented Q&A.

All four run locally on your server. Nothing is sent anywhere. You do not need a Katapic account, and you never have to connect anything.

An honest note on what this does and does not do. These tools make your product data machine-readable and complete. They do not, and cannot, guarantee that your products appear, rank or get cited in any search or AI engine. Nobody can promise that, and you should be careful with anyone who does.

Optional: connect to Katapic

If you want to go further than making the data readable, and actually measure and fix it, the plugin can connect your store to Katapic in one click. You do not create or copy any API keys: the plugin sets up the connection for you.

With the store connected you can:

• See a visibility score for every product, on two separate axes: SEO (Google) and AI search / AEO (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews).
• Rewrite weak descriptions in bulk, review the before and after, then publish back to your store.
• Fill the gaps that make products hard to find: thin descriptions, missing attributes, weak titles.
• Work in 10 languages, with readability measured per language.

Connecting creates a WooCommerce REST API key (read/write) so Katapic can read your products and write back optimized descriptions. It never touches your customers, orders or payments. Katapic is a third-party service with a free plan: see External services below.

External services

The free AI-visibility tools above make no external calls. This section applies only if you choose to connect your store.

This plugin can connect your site to Katapic, a third-party SaaS hosted at app.katapic.com, to score and optimize your product listings.

• When data is sent: when you click Connect to Katapic, and afterwards while your store stays connected.
• What is sent on connect: your site address (URL), your store name, and a WooCommerce REST API key that the plugin generates on your store. Login and registration happen on app.katapic.com: your Katapic password is never seen by the plugin.
• What Katapic does with it: uses the API key to read your products and write back optimized descriptions. It does not read or store your customers, orders or payment data.
