HexCoda A/B Audio Player Lite lets visitors switch between two aligned audio files while keeping the same playback position. It is designed for mixing and mastering portfolios, audio restoration, podcast editing, sound design, education, and other Before and After demonstrations.

The free plugin is fully functional without an account, license key, telemetry, or connection to HexCoda. Audio remains in your own WordPress Media Library. Lite validates Media Library attachment IDs at save and render time and does not accept arbitrary external audio URLs.

How it works

  1. Open HexCoda A/B Audio and create a player.
  2. Select the aligned Before and After files from the Media Library.
  3. Customize the labels and initial source.
  4. Publish the player.
  5. Add it with the Gutenberg block or [hexcoda_ab_audio id="123"] shortcode.

For accurate switching, export both versions from the same timeline start point. MP3 normally provides the broadest browser compatibility. WAV playback depends on the codec supported by the visitor’s browser.

HexCoda A/B Audio Player Lite does not create tracking cookies, collect analytics, send site details to HexCoda, or transmit audio files or audio URLs to HexCoda. The visitor’s browser requests audio from the website’s own Media Library host, which may maintain access logs under the site’s hosting policy.
