eDebit Direct Draft adds a payment gateway to WooCommerce that allows merchants to accept Draft payments through the eDebit Direct payment service.

When a customer selects eDebit Direct Draft during WooCommerce checkout, the plugin creates a payment session with the eDebit Direct service. The customer is then redirected to the eDebit Direct hosted payment application to complete the payment process.

The plugin provides the WooCommerce integration and communicates with the eDebit Direct service. Payment processing, bank-account connectivity, account verification, and related downstream functionality are handled by eDebit Direct’s services.

The plugin does not directly integrate with Yodlee. Any Yodlee or other third-party bank-connectivity functionality used by eDebit Direct is managed by eDebit Direct and its service providers.

This plugin communicates with the eDebit Direct service to create and process payment sessions.

The eDebit Direct service is used when a customer selects the eDebit Direct Draft payment method and initiates a payment.

During payment processing, the plugin may transmit information required to create and process the payment session. This may include:

  • WooCommerce order ID
  • Order amount
  • Customer first name
  • Customer last name
  • Customer email address
  • Customer phone number
  • Billing address
  • City
  • State
  • Country
  • ZIP/postal code
  • Payment method information required by the eDebit Direct service

After the payment session is created, the customer is redirected to the eDebit Direct hosted payment application to complete the payment process.

The eDebit Direct service may use third-party services for payment processing, bank connectivity, account verification, or related functionality. Such functionality is provided and managed by eDebit Direct and is not directly integrated into this WordPress plugin.

When the eDebit Direct Draft payment method is used, the plugin sends information required to create and process the payment session to the eDebit Direct service.

The information transmitted may include customer, billing, order, and payment-session information as described in the External Service section of this readme.

The plugin does not directly connect to Yodlee. Any bank-account verification or connectivity services used by eDebit Direct are handled by eDebit Direct.

Merchants should review the eDebit Direct Privacy Policy and their own website privacy requirements before enabling the payment gateway.

Requirements

The plugin requires:

  • WordPress 6.4 or later.
  • WooCommerce.
  • PHP 8.0 or later.
  • PHP cURL extension.
  • An active eDebit Direct merchant account.
  • Valid eDebit Direct API credentials.

The minimum PHP version should be verified against the PHP versions supported and tested by the merchant before installation.

Configuration

After activating the plugin:

  1. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments.
  2. Select eDebit Direct Draft.
  3. Enable the payment method.
  4. Enter the API credentials provided by eDebit Direct.
  5. Configure the available gateway options.
  6. Save the settings.

An active eDebit Direct merchant account and valid API credentials are required.

How It Works

  1. The customer adds products to the WooCommerce cart.
  2. The customer proceeds to WooCommerce checkout.
  3. The customer selects eDebit Direct Draft as the payment method.
  4. The plugin collects the information required to create the payment session.
  5. The plugin communicates with the eDebit Direct service.
  6. eDebit Direct creates the payment session.
  7. The customer is redirected to the eDebit Direct hosted payment application.
  8. The customer completes the payment process through the eDebit Direct application.
  9. The payment result is returned to the WooCommerce store.
  10. The WooCommerce order is updated according to the payment result.
