Arrow Publisher for Business Pages is a WordPress Facebook auto-posting plugin that can automatically publish new WordPress Posts to a connected Facebook Page.

Connect your Facebook Page once, choose the Page you want to use, and new standard WordPress Posts can be sent to Facebook automatically when they are first published.

The plugin uses a background publishing queue, so sending content to Facebook does not need to hold up the WordPress editor. If a temporary publishing problem occurs, queued items can be retried instead of simply being lost.

Automatically publish WordPress posts to Facebook

The Free edition is designed for automatic WordPress-to-Facebook publishing.

With the Free edition you can:

  • Connect a Facebook Page from WordPress.
  • Choose from multiple Facebook Pages returned during connection.
  • Automatically publish newly published standard WordPress Posts to Facebook.
  • Send the WordPress Post title, cleaned excerpt/content and original Post URL.
  • Use a background publishing queue with retry handling.
  • See simple publishing status totals in WordPress.

This provides a simple way to auto post WordPress blog content to a Facebook Business Page without copying and pasting each new post manually.

Publish more WordPress content to Facebook with Pro

Arrow Publisher for Business Pages Pro extends the publishing workflow beyond standard WordPress Posts.

Depending on the post types available on your website, Pro can publish content including:

  • Blog Posts
  • WordPress Pages
  • WooCommerce Products
  • Projects
  • Custom post types

This can be useful for WordPress websites where important content is stored outside the standard Posts section.

Publish existing WordPress content to Facebook with Pro

Pro can also publish content that already exists on your WordPress website.

Use the content search to find an existing Post, Page, WooCommerce Product, Project or other supported custom post type, then add the content you want to the Facebook publishing queue.

Content can be:

  • Published as soon as possible
  • Scheduled for later
  • Added to the publishing queue
  • Tracked through its publishing status

Already published or queued content is clearly identified to help prevent accidental duplicate publishing.

Schedule WordPress content for Facebook with Pro

Pro includes manual publishing and scheduling tools for content that you choose from WordPress.

This allows you to prepare existing website content for Facebook and schedule it for later rather than publishing everything immediately.

Facebook publishing queue

Arrow Publisher includes a built-in publishing queue so Facebook publishing does not need to hold up the WordPress editor.

From WordPress you can see the status of your queue, including pending, retrying and successfully published items.

If a temporary publishing problem occurs, queued items can be retried rather than simply being lost.

Connect your Facebook Business Page

Connect your Facebook account from WordPress and choose the Facebook Page you want Arrow Publisher to use.

If your Facebook account manages multiple Pages, you can select the appropriate Page during setup.

Once connected, publishing can be managed directly from your WordPress website.

Free and Pro editions

The Free edition automatically publishes newly published standard WordPress Posts as text and a link.

Direct featured-image publishing, Pages, WooCommerce Products, Projects, custom post types, manual publishing, scheduling, custom captions and advanced queue/history tools are available separately in Arrow Publisher for Business Pages Pro.

Free Facebook messages include a small Arrow Publisher for Business Pages attribution and a link to the Arrow Publisher for Business Pages Pro product page.

Arrow Publisher for Business Pages Pro is a separate plugin available directly from Arrow Design and includes a 7-day trial. The Free version does not expire and remains fully functional within its listed feature set.

External services

This plugin depends on external services to connect a Facebook Page and to publish content to Facebook.

Arrow Design connection service

Arrow Publisher for Business Pages uses the Arrow Design connection service at:

https://arrowdesign.ie/social-broker/

This service is required because the Meta application credentials used for the Facebook OAuth connection are held centrally rather than being distributed inside every WordPress installation.

When an administrator clicks Connect Facebook, the plugin sends the following information to the Arrow Design connection service:

  • The WordPress site’s public URL.
  • The WordPress site name.
  • The WordPress callback URL used to return the administrator to the site.
  • A cryptographically random connection state value.

The Arrow Design connection service then sends the administrator to Meta/Facebook for authorisation. During this connection process, the service receives the Meta OAuth response and temporarily handles the Facebook account/Page information and Page access tokens needed to complete the connection.

The service returns the authorised Facebook Pages and Page access tokens to the originating WordPress site through a short-lived, single-use handoff. The selected Page access token is then stored on the WordPress site in encrypted form.

The Arrow Design connection service is used during connection/reconnection. Normal Facebook publishing is sent from the WordPress site to Meta’s Graph API.

Meta / Facebook Graph API

After a Facebook Page has been connected, Arrow Publisher for Business Pages communicates with Meta’s Graph API at:

https://graph.facebook.com/

For connection testing, the plugin sends the selected Facebook Page ID and its access token.

When publishing a WordPress Post, the plugin sends:

  • The selected Facebook Page ID.
  • The Page access token.
  • The generated Facebook message, containing the WordPress Post title and excerpt/content.
  • The original WordPress Post URL.
  • In the Free edition, the Arrow Publisher for Business Pages attribution text and product-page URL.

This information is required to create the requested post on the connected Facebook Page.

Arrow Publisher for Business Pages does not ask visitors to the WordPress site for personal information.

The plugin stores Facebook connection information in the WordPress database so the site can publish to the selected Facebook Page. The Page access token returned during authorisation is encrypted before it is stored in WordPress.
